We love your place. My husband and I would love to do this every year. The house is glorious and of course the scenery is so peaceful, After losing my precious 94 yr. old mother in Dec. and our beloved schnauzer of 15 years in Feb., we needed this respite My husbands health is iffy and we carry a portable foam mattress wherever we go. It works so well placed on top you your existing one. I have found the house so easy to clean. with all the white , I could make it sparkling in a days time. We are using an old laptop of our sons that he loaned us for this trip. I am not used to the "trigger finger" speed, but am enjoying using it. Thank you, thank you, thank you for making a part of our "bucket list" come true, inasmuch as spending a month on the OCEAN. Your accessories are so beautiful and "beachey". We have enjoyed all your paintings , shells, etc. so much. The kitchen is so well appointed and convenient. I do most of our cooking and eat out only occasionally, Gene's birthday is March 11 and we plan to celebrate at Island Way or Joseph's. Again, our sincere thank yous for making this dream come true . You are truly special people.
Favorite Family Activites: Sitting on the deck watching the dolphins (porpoise) swim by, an owl flew right by our noses, and an early morning visit by a beautiful fox. We also have a black kitty that visits sometimes. then we watch the night stars , moon, sunsets, sunrises and military planes doing all kinds of exercises. Most of all, we spend time trying to renew our 42 years together, as we have been so busy these past many years with my husbands sickness and two sets of ailing parents, We've not had time together just to reflect on our past years. We've talked to each other more these past couple of weeks than in the past 10 years. This has become so important to us. Again, thank you.
Favorite Places to Visit or Eat: We love to go down to 6th street public pier. Today, we saw two deer frolicking on the other side of the marsh!!! This island is packed with opportunities to see wildlife, artifacts, visit unique shops, etc. We have eaten at several island restaurants including, OI deli beside the post office. They have daily soup specials which has been delicious , especially on cool days. OI Restaurant has the best senior citizen flounder filet on the island!! And the BBQ House has great sc specials as well. Other than that, we stick close to "home". We have been invited by some friends to meet them in Southport tomorrow to eat at "The Pharmacy". We've visited there in years gone by and love it.
